Atmosphere of the sun

The atmosphere of the sun is the outermost layer of the sun. The atmosphere of the sun is divided into two layers, those are corona and chromospheres
  1. Corona: corona is the outermost layer of the sun that surrounds the chromospheres. Corona is easily seen when a total eclipse happens. Its shape is like a petal. Corona layer has thickness of up to 2.5 x 1.000.0000 km. From this corona, millions of tons of electrically charged particles are spurted every second, this spurt is called sun wind. This sun wind is electric particles that spread to every direction in the sky.
  2. Chromosphere: chromosphere is a thick gas layer that surrounds the photosphere. Chromosphere layer can also be seen when a solar eclipse happens. The Chromosphere emits weak red ray. The Chromosphere layer has a thickness of up to 16,000 km.
