Principles in the serial circuits of electric resistors
- The electric current the passes through each resistor is equal to the electric current the passes through the serial substitute resistor
- The voltage in serial substitute resistor is equal to the sum of voltage in each resistor
- Serial arrangement function as a voltage divider. The voltage in each resistor is directly proportional to its resistance.

Principles in the parallel circuits of electric resistors
- The electric current that passes through a parallel substitute resistor ia equal to the sum of electric current that passes through each resistor
- The voltage in a parallel substitute resistor is equal in each resistor.
- The parallel arrangement functions as a current divider. The electric current flowing through each resistor is directly proportional to the inverse of its resistance.
